The Poetry Society’s Foyle Young Poets Award-winners Freya Gillard and Jennie Howitt are heading up a competition run by the Poetry Society’s Young Poets Network, aimed at exploring the wonderful world of bogs and peatland through poetry. The competition aims to shed creative light on this misunderstood but critically important habitat through poetry.
Competition Deadline
The Bog Challenge Poetry Competition is open to writers aged 25 and under based anywhere in the world. The deadline is 23:59 GMT, Sunday 10 August 2025. Enter via Submittable.
Join the Young Poets Takeover
To help inspire competition entries, the Young Poets Network are running a free online workshop (and Young Poets Takeover!) for 14-25s on Saturday 5 July 2025 at 1600 GMT.
