About the blog

About the blog

The RENEW blog celebrates diverse voices from across the RENEW partnership and beyond. It is an online hub for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, funders, land managers, businesses, communities, and individuals interested in the opportunities and challenges in renewing biodiversity.

Our aim is to promote the importance of biodiversity renewal, through:

  • Providing updates on the latest RENEW research, impact, and events;
  • Encouraging topical discussion and debate via our Biodiversity Matters series;
  • Unpicking complex terminology and concepts in our Environmental Explainers series;
  • Championing a range of perspectives from across disciplines and sectors.

RENEW updates

Our blog brings updates and discussion from the RENEW team and our partners, from event write ups and updates on collaborations to more focused reflections on knotty research questions, novel approaches, and new findings.

Biodiversity Matters

Our Biodiversity Matters series encourages topical discussion and debate on biodiversity renewal at local, national, and global scales. The focus need not be limited to RENEW – we encourage much wider engagement with ideas and action across disciplines and sectors. This could include thought pieces, Q&As, updates from the field, responses to changing policy landscapes, and more.

Environmental Explainers

Our Environmental Explainers series gets to grips with the more technical terminology and concepts used in RENEW. Members of the RENEW community unpick the complexity of these terms and concepts, offering an accessible explanation of what they mean and how they are used across varying disciplines and sectors.
