Ryan Shum is a social scientist, working at the interface of geography and science and technology studies. Before joining RENEW, he worked on an ESRC-funded PhD that examined the emerging geographies of microplastic science. His research interests include the everyday practices of scientific knowledge production, interdisciplinary collaboration (across both plastic pollution and biodiversity renewal) and care in the context of science.
