Join us to find out more about ExCASES – one of RENEW’s cross-cutting themes focused on agile, solutions-oriented research.
Thursday 16th May 2024, 14:00-15:00, Online
This Partner Forum event is your chance to meet the ExCASES team and find out more about their work on rapid, impactful and cross-sectoral ‘missions‘ on challenging questions relating to biodiversity renewal.
Join us to learn more about:
- ExCASES’s innovative, participatory, and solutions-oriented ‘missions’
- Our first, completed mission, Seeing the Forest for the Deer, which used a participatory process to explore how stakeholder collaboration can improve landscape-scale deer management
- Missions currently underway:
- Paws for Thought: evidencing the impacts of domestic dogs on nature, and seeking sustainable solutions for land managers and dog owners.
- Who decides for nature: exploring how we can create more participatory, representative and deliberative cultures within the nature sector to support more democratic decision-making and positive outcomes for biodiversity renewal (drawing on lessons from the People’s Plan for Nature).
- Cultivating communities that care for urban trees: seeking to understand what works well in enabling meaningful community participation in the management and care of urban trees, to create principles of best practice which can inform local authorities and larger landscape scale initiatives.
There will be opportunities to ask questions, hear more about how you can get involved in our work, and discover how you can submit your own ideas for future missions to the Team.
For more background information, to read other ideas in our missions bank, and to add your own suggestions, please see our interactive ExCASES missions board (padlet.org).
All RENEW partners are welcome. Registration is via Eventbrite – if you are a RENEW partner and have not yet received the link, please get in touch by emailing renew@exeter.ac.uk.
We look forward to seeing you there!
