Tim Lenton is founding director of University of Exeter’s Global Systems Institute. His research focuses on how other life forms have created and maintain a habitable planet for us. His work involves modelling life’s coupling to the Earth system, biogeochemical cycling, climate dynamics, and associated tipping points. He co-authored the Planetary Boundaries framework and is an expert in ‘whole systems’ thinking.
