I am a PhD student working as part of the Community Action theme in RENEW. I will be working on co-designing management scenarios for upland commons in Cumbria with commoners and then modelling the biodiversity and climate outcomes of those scenarios to inform management decisions. With a background working on climate and nature policy in various environmental NGOs, I am interested in how/whether involving communities in decisions about land management and applying modelling to projects on the ground could improve biodiversity and climate outcomes and, ultimately, inform policy-making at the local and national level.
