Hossein is a Research Fellow in Statistics and works on a project investigating Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) methodology funded by the Alan Turing Institute. UQ is concern with the estimation of uncertainty propagated through complex numerical models which are computationally expensive. The primary goal of this project is to develop Gaussian process emulators for such complex models. Hossein’s research interests lie in the area of Gaussian process modelling, Uncertainty Quantification, Bayesian optimisation and Statistics.
Hossein received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne, France. The topic of his PhD was the use of Gaussian processes to optimise time-consuming functions.
