Gail Whiteman is a social science expert on translating global risks from the natural environment into corporate sustainability strategies and establishing innovative information flow between science and business to enhance decision-making. She is interested in understanding the barriers and enablers in corporate decision-making with respect to biodiversity, people and nature. Her previous research has also explored how direct engagement and exposure to nature environments (“ecological embeddedness”) enhances a manager’s sense of place, which has impacts on perceptions of problems and solutions.
