I am a NERC Research Fellow in the Environment and Sustainability Institute, University of Exeter. My research focuses on understanding the effects of environmental change on populations, communities and ecosystems, particularly through the analysis of citizen science data. A major component of this research looks at how biases in the way biodiversity data are collected by citizen scientists affects our ability to understand patterns of species distributions and population trends. The objective of this work is to develop methodological approaches for analysing biased data and to provide guidance on data collection to enhance the quality of information used to inform conservation management decisions. More generally, I am interested in ecological modelling and routinely collaborate across ecological disciplines on a broad range of theoretical and applied research projects.
