Charles Masquelier is a social theorist working on political economy and human-nature relations. An important part of his research consists in applying the sociological imagination to the study of humans in nature by examining how their relation to nature, such as nature renewal engagement, is influenced by different structures, be they social, economic, cultural or normative. He has experience in conceptualising how different organisational arrangements, e.g. owner-managed and hierarchically organised businesses vs. horizontally managed worker cooperatives, influence individuals’ attitudes toward the environment.
